Testimonial

I have the complete set of DVDs, Joann Middleton, from Patchwork Schoolhouse Set of 7 DVDs… and I love them and watch them all the time. I review them often especially when my hubby is watching sports. I especially love watching THE QUILT SHOW at bedtime… I drift off to sleep with the sound of sewing machines in my ears. I often find myself loaning my DVD out to my RESPONSIBLE friends.
The entire series of DVDs (7 for $200) goes over everything….I do wish she had more quilts to view… I could not get enough.

I just bought and viewed FINISHING WELL from Patchwork School House.... Joanne Middleton... this is a great DVD to have in a guild library ( any library.) as a reference DVD.

Joanne's explanations were clear and concise Easy to follow with lots of explanation for the procedures.

The production values for the DVD were good. Sometimes the production values for self published DVDs are shoddy with poor hard to hear audio and poor lighting. This one was well done.

I did my first miter border thanks to this DVD... one step at a time till all the corners were done. Kept playing the DVD over and over again.

I found I am a very visual learner and do better when I can see a new technique repeated.

Having now viewed the entire set.... I see I have some BAD HABITS to correct. I loved the fact she shows every conceivable way to do the triangles and flying geeses.... I never knew there are over 16 ways to sew a simple flying geese block.

Takes a lot of mystery out of using some of the off the wall tools/ rulers I tend to buy at quilt vendors and then can not figure out how to use once I get them home.

THIS IS A GREAT REFERNCE / RESOURCE, especially for quilt guilds.

I bought the whole set and am hoping my DD will watch it once in a while.... she is a wanna be quilter .... but does things HER WAY (wrong way)

She has gotten better every time I expose her to a new quilt DVD..... so their is hope.

BTW I loved her Canadian accent.

I haven’t actually watched Joanne’s DVD’s, but I have taken two courses from her - Fun With Triangles and Precision Piecing. I recommend them both for skill building. The quilt I made in the Fun With Triangles course is actually posted in her Student Gallery!
In person, Joanne is warm and funny, and she has a great way of explaining things. I would assume that would come through in her DVD’s as well.
Note that this site is Canadian, so the price is in Canadian dollars. Only about 10 cents difference these days, though.

Thank you for the Patchwork Schoolhouse information. I had never heard of them before. I’m glad you told us that you believe they are worth the cost, or I may have been scared off by the pricing.
